“Validation Dilemma” is an interactive sculpture that uncovers how one’s desire for superficial validations could evolve into a toxic dilemma. External approval compensates for attention deficit by forcing people to seek love, constantly validating their incomplete identity and confidence.
The self-struggle for more validation could foster compulsive behaviors, as seen in the parallel of neatly packed clothes. The choice of resin serves to fix and solidify the neat composition of the clothes, underscoring repetition and obsessive attitudes. Each piece of clothing represents a common symbol for recognition of each category—wealth, fame, academic background, and respect. I carved out stamps to execute the action of relentlessly printing on the clothes, to pursue the performance of obsessive precision.
