Hamster on a Wheel

This painting was created after reading the stories of the children of prisoners in Korea, the first in a series that depicts a girl in a hurdle race.

This painting, with the use of heavy oil paint, shows a girl stuck in a desperate cycle of running, running against a dark background seemingly by herself, almost like she is running in place.

The small track and the figures at the bottom of the painting in a running cycle represent the endlessness of the situation, the obstacle after obstacle that she seems to face despite her persistence.
